2025/2026

1ST ANNUAL YOUTH CONCERTO COMPETITION

 

Applications are now being accepted for the OPCO's 1st annual youth concerto competition.   The deadline to submit an application is February 15th, 2026. Please send an email to OakParkChamberOrchestra@gmail.com with a brief description of your performers music career and repertoire selection.  A piano accompanist can be provided for a $35 fee and a $25 non-refundable deposit can be sent to

(PLEASE LABEL ANY PAYMENT WITH APPLICANT NAME AND INSTRUMENT)

-Youth Artist Category (ages 18 and under) = $250 prize

-Emerging Artist Category (current undergraduate students) = $750 prize

 

The competition winners in both categories will be offered the opportunity to perform a movement of their concerto with the OPCO in the 2026/27 season.

Competition judging will be a voting system with a panel of judges as well as 1 vote per audience member. The competition will be held in the Ballroom at the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association building located at 178 Forest Ave, Oak Park, IL, 60301. 

OPCO Auditions

Applications for auditions will be accepted starting in February 2026.  Please check back then for information on submitting an application.

-Principal Violin II - June 13th, 2026

-Violin II - June 13th, 2026

-Principal Cello - June 14th, 2026

-Cello - June 14th, 2026

-Clarinet II - June 14th, 2026

-Principal Bassoon - June 15th, 2026

-Bassoon II - June 15th, 2026

2025/2026 per service rates are $155 Section/ $187.50 Principal with 15% doubling and cartage. Auditions will be held at the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association building located at 178 Forest Ave, Oak Park, IL, 60301.
